Food Choice Research

We work with behavioral economists at the University of Chicago’s Science of Philanthropy Initiative (SPI) and other academic researchers to identify barriers to healthy eating, and effective incentives for overcoming these barriers. At our pilot store in Greater Grand Crossing, adults and children participated in intervention studies which tested different informational and monetary nudges to choose healthy foods at the point of purchase. We will share our research results on this website once they become available. Future planned studies will be conducted in retail, school and various other settings.
